First, we visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, a vast underground network that was vital during the Vietnam War. Known as the "Iron Triangle," these tunnels served as a military base for the Vietnamese resistance against US forces. Although Cu Chi was heavily bombed and devastated, it has since revived and stands as a symbol of resilience, blending historical significance with Vietnamese culture. During your visit, you'll gain insight into the hardships of war and even have the chance to fire an AK-47 at the shooting range, if you're interested!
Next, we head to the Mekong Delta, often referred to as the "rice bowl" of Vietnam due to its vast rice fields. Here, you'll experience life along the river, with floating houses and markets that offer a glimpse into the tranquil beauty of the region.
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel for a 1.5-hour drive to Cu Chi, passing picturesque rural landscapes filled with ducks and water buffalo. As you approach Cu Chi, you’ll see the remnants of the destruction from the war.
After the Cu Chi visit, we’ll drive two hours to My Tho City, stopping for lunch on the way. Once in My Tho, we’ll board a boat to cruise along the peaceful coconut tree-lined canals, heading toward Coconut Island in Ben Tre. Here, you’ll take a stroll through the village, stopping at a local family home to enjoy tropical fruits, honey tea, honey wine, and a traditional Vietnamese music performance.
We’ll continue on to a coconut candy workshop where you can see how the sweet treats are made and learn about the handicrafts created from coconut trees. Take some time to walk through the village and enjoy the natural beauty, with vibrant fruit trees, local houses, and children playing. Don't forget to snap photos along the way!
